We all think each day about how our lives could do with an extra kick and more excitement.

Are there things you would like to do but need an extra push in order to go ahead? I guess we could also discuss the bucket list. Do you have a bucket list? I have never had one and it’s not too late to start.

If you had the chance what would you do to change your life for the better? I mean in ways that you would never have imagined!

Try escaping from your comfort zone by taking the time to learn something new. For those who have never ridden a bike or who want to drive a car. This is a perfect time.

For all the socially anxious people out there, speak to the nearest person to you and ask them out for a coffee. Make a new friend.

Are you driven by an adrenalin high then plan a trip to climb one of the highest peaks and make your way to the top and scream the biggest scream you have ever made in your life?! If you can’t manage to do this, then there are certain hills and mountains where you may be able to still do this. This is an incredible feeling as you let go of the emotions you may have been holding onto for a long time. A friend of mine has taken me to do this before.

Don’t live in regret and live in the now.

Do you find that your work life consumes you and you can’t enjoy anything outside your work because you are so concerned about the outcomes? Then this is your chance to change this?! Do something so outrageous that when you wake up the next day, you will think ‘Wow why didn’t I do this before!’ When I mean crazy, I mean go paragliding, skydive and face your fears. Surprise yourself at what limits you can go with your choices. The worst thing you can do is to go home and sit in front of the TV and not do something about this.

Reassess your life and who you associate yourself with. Be honest with yourself and ask yourself, ‘Are the people whom I associate myself with the right people to spend my time with?’ I am assessing my life and the people I have let into my life and what impacts they have on me. I have had my fair share of toxicity and I do not want to associate myself with this anymore.

Move to another country and get to know more about yourself. When we live in other countries, we tend to learn different aspects of ourselves which we may not have learnt in our home surroundings. When I moved to Australia a number of years ago, this completely changed my life and I do not look back.

I read this quote not so long ago, “Go to where you feel most alive”. This signifies that we should be where we can be ourselves. Don’t stay in a situation which makes you feel unhappy or stagnated. Life has its unexpected turns which ultimately means that we may not always be ready for what is thrown at us. Yes, this is scary, but in life, we constantly grow and we must be prepared and flexible for what is waiting for us. I have not known for many years where I feel most alive and I am starting to come to terms with this. You will feel the most alive when you are happy with yourself.

A great way to start this process is to get yourself a piece of paper and write the top 10 things which come to your mind and then think how these ideas can help change your life.

There are times in our life where we have to do something so unexpected which will help us onto the road of achieving what we desire.

When it is a clear night, take a chair and a blanket and spend a little  while reflecting whilst looking at the stars. This will give you the chance to reflect on your life and think of the future. Clearing your mind is crucial during the process of changing your life.

Paint a picture of a scenery which you have always wanted to. Painting can actually be quite therapeutic. I have done this and this is great for the mind and fulfilling.

Are you a procrastinator? I have been a procrastinator and kept putting off doing things which could potentially have changed my life. Since blocking out procrastination, this has changed my life.

Take up a new sport. If you are struggling to be healthy then attend your closest gym and sit down with a nutritionist to put together a plan. All we need is a certain someone to point us in the right direction. Everything else will follow.

These are pointers about how it’s never too late to make the changes you need to make to live the life you have always wanted. If you ever find yourself in the position of feeling like you do not have any choices remember that you do have choices. This is your life after all. It is not anyone else’s life!
